I didn't like what they did to Sakura and Haruto at the end of the show.

This show was so good until the final episode suddenly ruined the whole thing, I mean what the hell? Why did she break up with him?? I genuinely don't understand the logic?? I get that she wants to work in her salon and save her business but why can't she do that while living with Haruto? Can she not just quit working in the goldfish shop but still live with him and be together?? WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?????

im sorry but so few people in this were likeable (and the likeable people got screwed over) !!!! i can't believe sakura's husband had the audacity to say he's single, lonely, and welcoming offers after what he did to her !!! good god !!! get some help sir !!!

sometimes you need sex montages and goldfish care advice in order to fully understand the depth of the abuse faced by our protagonist

sometimes all you need is a cute and somewhat enigmatic male lead to line up with the infidelity sub plots that have more plot in 2 seconds than all of porn

this show really did all of that at onceANDmade me want to actually fight an actor i will never meet

  • Review by Nonomoi ★★★★

I really liked it, despite the strange ending, but maybe more realistic (and I still want to think it was an open ending).Contrary to what I read in some reviews, I didn't think the sex scenes were exaggerated (many of them are beautiful and intense, with a lot of chemistry), I didn't think the performances were bad at all (people have to understand that Japanese culture in nothing it has to do with the western culture, they are not watching western series...), nor the poorly constructed script. The series is very catchy and makes us feel varied and even contradictory feelings.I really liked that each episode was based on each of the wives and the main wife had her story developed…

the problem here wasn’t the infidelity, it was the fact that haruto sleeps on his back like he’s in a damn coffin… not right

  • Review by pirouettes ★★ 1

This whole show felt like it was written by Murakami, for Murakami. Made me grudgingly appreciate it, yet hate the portrayal and source. Also, way too much assault being normalised. An extra star simply because I appreciated that Sakura didn't end up with Haruto right after the divorce, no matter how great he was and how easy it would have been to do.

i feel like the director definitely has a kink for infidelity

  • Review by Suraiya 🌝 ★★★★★

It felt like a gift. A beautiful and mature well thought-out gift. It was so incredible. People have so many different layers and they were able to perfectly capture that essence.

one star because i do like fishes and fireworks

    45/100

For a drama that has as its central plot the story of a woman who suffers abuse and is cheated on by her husband, the creators tried too hard to make this something else that looked too much like an erotic tale with so many unnecessary sex sequences.

It is an extremely long miniseries that does not make up for the time invested considering what it addresses and how it addresses it.

I support women's rights. But more than anything I support women's wrongs. Sometimes cheating is valid pt 2 🫡
